To extend the work of the Cultivating Black and Native Futures in Education convening held in June 2021, we invited convening participants and attendees to apply for a $2,000 supplemental grant. The supplemental grant will fund working groups/individuals that support efforts to cultivate Black and Native futures in education: projects, research, or initiatives that further efforts to make educational spaces for Black and/or Indigenous learners into sites of exploratory and experiential learning rooted in work toward decolonization and liberation. We believe in the beautiful work that many folks are doing on the ground, in the classrooms, across communities to build educational futures for Black and Native peoples. This work may include curriculum development, participatory action research, filmmaking, events, community interviews, or other efforts we have yet to dream up.

We are pleased to announce our five grantees! Please join us in congratulating them.
